The popular TV franchises Doctor Who and Star Trek have delighted sci fi fans for 60 years. The appearance of LGBT characters in these shows can seem like a recent development, but there has long been queer representation in science fiction, either openly or implicitly. Delta College professors Chrissie DeClerck-Szilagyi (HIS) Darci Doll (PHL), and Donny Winter (ENG) will explore this fascinating history.
